Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception School was founded in 1885 and was the first multi-room schoolhouse in town. Our pastoral mission began with a small group of immigrant German Catholic farmers. They valued the mission of the school so much that they built the schoolhouse eight years before the church building. Today, we continue the vision and the generous spirit demonstrated by those founding members.
Although we are proud of our long history, we are not simply resting on our past success. Continuous school improvement plans are active to strengthen our curriculum, our teaching methods, and the way we assess student learning. In the past several years, we have added a new multi-purpose parish center/gymnasium and began a preschool program.
