Well, it is hard to believe that we have just finished the first semester of school! The students have been busy with tests this week to finish out the quarter. Report cards will be sent home next Friday.

You should have received your Re–registration materials last week, please complete and return the forms and registration fee of $130 by February 10. Thank you to those families who have already completed this process.

Catholic Schools Week begins with our Open House on Sunday, January 29 from 10 am–1pm. The week is planned with many activities and events, a flyer will be sent home next week with details. PTU is graciously sponsoring an all school field trip to the New Cleveland Aquarium on Thursday, February 2 and we are all looking forward to this exciting event!

Finally, our mobile unit is in place! The contractors are busy working on the inside of the unit and I’m told that it should be completed within two weeks, yea!! As soon as it is completed, our Auxiliary Staff will be moving into the new unit.

Family Movie Night
TGIF is sponsoring a movie night on Sunday, January 22nd in the Parish Hall. Movies will begin at 6:00 PM. Feature Films: Soul Surfer – grades 5–8 and Dolphin Tale – grades K–4. For more information contact Karen Kurtzweil at 440-934-2922, karenkurtz@roadrunner.com

TEC Superbowl Squares
I encourage you to support TEC’s Superbowl squares for only $10.00 a square. Monies raised will benefit your child’s innovative technology program at St. Mary School. Entry forms are available on our website www.stmaryavon.org and forms are due by January 31, 2012.

Winterfest Casino Night
I encourage you to support Booster’s Big Winterfest Fundraiser by making plans to attend this fun and relaxing evening with family and friends on Saturday, February 4 at Tom’s Country Place, doors open at 6:30 pm.
