Welcome to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, a parish with a history rooted in Avon for more than 160 years. We are a Eucharistic Community that is committed to following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we are striving to build our Roman Catholic faith through our lives of prayer, service and religious education.
At St. Mary School, we offer an outstanding education for Grades K-8, and we have 2 licensed Kindergarten and First grade teachers in each classroom (teacher & aide). Our students have access to state-of- the art technology with Apple Laptops, iPads, iPods, and Lego Robotics. St. Mary School offers enrichment and after-school programs for student involvement: Robotics Club, Band, Drama, Academic Challenge, Student Council, Environmental Club and Intramural and CYO sports. In addition, we offer an After-School Care program (KidZone) for our families. Click here to learn more about St. Mary's School.
St. Mary’s technology program was highlighted at the 2013 NASA Space Exploration Educators Conference in February! The conference was designed to give educators ideas about how they can teach students about space exploration. The interactive 90-minute presentation to other educators and NASA personnel—including astronauts was very well received. A NASA education specialist with the Aeronautical Education Program at Penn Sate requested permission to share our lessons at a "Space Math" workshop at Marian University.
